How Medication Access Became Our Calling

In 2015, Paul Pruitt’s first child was diagnosed with a rare genetic disease called cystinosis. Not long after, his second son was also diagnosed with the same condition. The medication that manages their health is effective but comes at an extraordinary cost—more than $110,000 per month, per child
Experiencing the crushing financial and administrative challenges firsthand reshaped Paul’s career. What began as a family struggle became the foundation of SHARx’s mission. The goal is to ensure that no member or employer faces the same impossible burden. That commitment to replace helplessness with hope guides every decision SHARx makes.
