About The Position

The Software Development Manager will lead a small team of developers supporting one or more divisions of SHARx. The selected candidate will collaborate with project managers, department heads, and their developers to make the best use of development resources to create solutions. The Software Development Manager will oversee developers as they work on the team’s projects and bring sufficient technical depth to guide design decisions, review code and architecture, and mentor developers in best practices and problem-solving approaches.

This is a hybrid position in St. Louis, MO, which will require 2 days in the office and allows 3 from home if desired.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist developers on the team with projects: defining problems, deciding on a solution, organizing a roadmap, coding, and testing (approximately 50%). 
  • Help steer the direction of the SDLC and architecture with dev management team (approximately 15%). 
  • Design and code own solutions (approximately 15%).
  • Complete regular scheduled check-ins with developers to make sure they are happy and productive developers (approximately 10%). 
  • Handle escalated issues (approximately 10%). 

Position Requirements:

  • Degree in Information Technology or related field.
  • 2 or more years’ employee management experience.
  • 5 or more years’ experience building business applications. 
  • Proficient in C#.
  • Experience working on more than one development team building internal business applications. 
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to remain organized.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 8 or more years’ experience leading a small team.
  • Experience with more than one kind of business application architecture.
  • Familiar with the Anthropic ecosystem and Claude Code.
  • Experience with reporting and Power BI.
